How to Get a Medical Marijuana Card in West Virginia

Step 1: Book An Appointment With CCC

Schedule an appointment with CCC to meet virtually with a medical marijuana doctor in West Virginia at a time that suits you best. Be sure to have your medical documentation for your qualifying condition ready, along with a valid state ID or driver’s license.

Step 2: Talk to a Certified Physician

You’ll meet with your certifying physician virtually via video chat. During the appointment, the doctor will thoroughly discuss your medical condition, symptoms, and any current or previous medications you’ve used. Together, you’ll create a personalized cannabis medicine treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Following the appointment, your doctor will fill out a recommendation form for medical marijuana, granting you approval. You’ll use this form to apply to the state for your WV medical cannabis card.

    Step 3: Get Your Card!

Once approved by a certifying physician, you’ll proceed to register with the state and submit an application for your medical cannabis card through the West Virginia Office of Medical Cannabis using the convenient WV online platform.

Between 30-60 days after the state approves your application and receives payment, you will receive an email notifying you of the status of your application.

Patients are required to renew their license annually by consulting with a licensed physician again. CCC will reach out to you as your annual certification expiration approaches to assist you with scheduling your renewal appointment.

I suffer from anxiety so waiting for the call to be certified was scary. I have a hard time talking to strangers &w/video calls. I was so happy that once the call started I was put at ease. From the moment I got my notice to re-certify I was on high anxiety. The CCC doctors and staff walked me through everything. They truly are caring and compassionate. I’m very grateful

This was my 4th time with CCC since starting this journey. I want to be treated like a person not a $$$. I’d like to pay a fair price for the service I receive, and as much as possible, I need my appointments to be on my schedule. They have exceeded all of my requirements to the point that it never crossed my mind to go anywhere else and I’m looking forward to possibly speaking to the same folks next year.
